Shoes, Shoes and That Sunday Thing

Well...it is that time of year again and believe it or not the 2 things above do go hand in hand. You see, in the summer I am on break from That Sunday Thing (TST) so in the fall it starts back up again-this Sunday to be exact. Along with the beginning of fall, a new shoe collection MUST be purchased. So let me indulge you...

TST
Last summer our church was in great need of volunteers to teach Sunday school. I wanted to and could tell that my heart was being pulled, but I just didn't want to do it. I believe and I have a strong Faith, but my knowledge of the Bible and its stories leave A LOT to be desired. With that said, the tug on my heart would not go away. I (seriously) would sit in church on Sunday and ask God to NOT call me to do it.
I then had to ask myself why was I afraid and I knew it was my lack of "Bible knowledge" that was doing me in. I had been wanting to get more involved in church and this seemed like the perfect fit, other than the above mentioned problem.
Finally, while sitting at the airport waiting for Andy's plane, I talked to him and Alex about it and they convinced me to go for it. So, I picked up the phone and called our education director. The bad news...the class I wanted (toddlers and much more easy to handle) was during our normal worship time and I was NOT willing to give that up. I love our service, our friends and our church family so that "NO" was a no brainer. Then Melissa told me that she really really needed someone for the junior high class and gosh darn it, the tug was going full force again. Can you believe it...me...the 7th and 8th grade Sunday school teacher? Deep down, I totally love it. The kids are awesome in their Faith and the fact alone that they have it so early amazes me. There were rough weeks, but I am so glad that I do it.

Now...there is a new addition to my class this year. This individual is tall, dark, handsome, Faithful, smart, gorgeous, a loving husband and amazing father...any guesses???

That is right! This year Alex and I are doing the class together and I am really excited. I am still unsure in my "Bible knowledge", but he knows it really well and what a GREAT thing for the kids to see a young (and COOL) married couple servicing God together. Ahh! Wish us luck...this will be our first Sunday of TST! I know he is going out of his invovlement level zone, but I think it is going to be a great thing for us to teach to our kids and reach out to the others.

Now, like I said with the beginning of Fall there are new shoes and I have added a few pairs to my collection thus far.

Purple mocassins
Black ballet flats with a top buckle and ruffled detailing on the toe
Light brown ballet flat with a cross over toe box
Black leather 3 inch peep toe
Dark brown 3 inch peep toe mary jane
Pink, purple and white houndstooth 3 inch peep toe platform with black patent accents
Silver, black and white metallic python print ballet flat
Black 2 inch heel with fringe and tassle detail

Wipe your mouths ladies!
